Secure Data Exchange and Distribution System (SDEDS) is a platform hosted by OpenReach to provide lots … and lots … of spreadsheets as the single source of truth on the whereabouts of all their cables, trenches, poles, and other installations. It’s fairly sensitive information and not available on the public web, with the individual files encrypted behind an FTPS server and layers of account security and certificates. My solution automated the otherwise lengthy manual process to acquire, decrypt, match and correlate, and distribute the data.
